The Enemy Within

When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you. ~African Proverb

How true the above proverb is. Often times we are our own worst enemy. We beat ourselves up for the things, we should have, would have, could have done! We tear ourselves down to the point where we become broken vessels.
Today let's take some time to build ourselves back up...remove all the "negative internal chatter" and speak life into our existence.
Remember that change begins with each of us...we must be the change we want to see!

Our Deepest Fear

Today I just want to share the below passage to inspire us to be our very best! Not what the world considers the best...but we as individuals consider to be our best.
Let's be powerful..let's be resilient...let's be strong...and let's show the world that you cannot stop those Diva Vybes!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Principles of Success

There is a great book called 10 Spiritual Principles of Successful Women by Victoria Lowe.
In the book she lists five keys to success:
Add caption

1) Have peace with yourself and your life!
I think this one is so important. How often do we just go through life merely existing but not living. Letting the trials of life consume us. We have to come to a place where we learn to have peace in the midst of the storms.

2)  Commit to excellence
When you make a commitment to do something it means that no matter what comes up - you are determined to finish this task. Now this is one that I have had problems with - often letting circumstances alter my course. We have to determine in our minds that we are going to be successful and then set out to achieve this goal.

3) Operate with a servant's heart
I will quote directly from the book on this one -  "A successful woman serves God's purpose rather than her own vanity, ego or personal agenda."

4) Pay the cost
Sometimes we want the success without the hard work that comes with it. We must be willing to put in the work to receive the rewards!

5) Know which season you are in
Are you trying to "harvest" when you should still be "sowing". We must first plant the seeds in order to reap the harvest.  We also must make sure we are planting seeds that belong in our lives. Sometimes we are living a life we were never destined to live because we are planting the wrong seeds!

"Real success is discovered only after hard work."

Living - The Gift of Wisdom

Life is a gift of nature; but beautiful living is the gift of wisdom. - Greek Adage

How many of us are really living...not just existing...but living life to the fullest.
Enjoying every things that comes with life...the good, the bad and the ugly!!!!
I know first hand that sometimes life can get overwhelming and it's definitely hard to see the silver lining and remain positive.
My challenge to us (yes me too) is that we do some "beautiful living"!
Let's give life those Diva Vybes...and live it up!

Welcome

Welcome to the first post on Diva Vybes! I have been setting up and playing with this blog all day - I am too tired...but wanted to post something (after all my hard work) tonight!
This blog will be kind of an extension of a group I started on Facebook called Ladies First (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=332786645960&ref=ts).
As women sometimes we don't realize our worth and how awesome and phenomenal God has made us...this is just my way to remind us and myself that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! Now let's get ready to spread those Diva Vybes!
